Your data, looked after properly
I take your privacy as seriously as I take your dog's safety. Here's exactly what I collect, why, and how it's kept safe — in plain English, not legal jargon.
💳 Nowhere near your card details
This is worth being completely clear about: I don't, and never will, take or store card payments through this website or your account. There is no payment form on this site, ever.
Every booking is settled by invoice, paid directly between us by bank transfer. Your card details are never seen, touched, or stored anywhere in this system — because the system was never built to handle them in the first place.
What I collect
- Your name, email, phone number, and postcode — needed to plan routes and manage your account
- Your pet's details — name, breed, health notes, vet and emergency contact info — so I can look after them properly
- Photos and short videos from walks and visits, for your Doggy Journal
- Your booking and invoice history
Why I collect it
To run your bookings, keep your pet safe, send you updates, and invoice you correctly. That's genuinely all of it — nothing is collected "just in case" or for any purpose beyond looking after you and your pet.
How it's kept safe
The technical side, in plain terms:
Encrypted passwords
Your password is never stored as readable text — it's one-way encrypted (bcrypt), so even I can't see it.
Secure connections
Everything between your device and the server travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, always.
Trusted photo storage
Photos and videos are stored with Cloudinary, an established media platform used by businesses worldwide — not left sitting exposed on a basic server.
Only Sammy has access
Client accounts can only ever see their own information. There's no way to browse other clients' details.
Who sees it
Just me. Your information is never sold, rented, or shared with anyone for marketing. The only exception is a genuine emergency — if I ever need to contact your vet or the emergency contact you've provided, for your pet's sake.
How long I keep it
For as long as you have an account with me, plus a reasonable period afterward for tax and insurance records — typically up to 6 years, as UK law requires for business records. You can ask me to delete your account and data sooner at any time; see below.
Your rights
- Show you exactly what I hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong or out of date
- Delete your account and data
- Export a copy of your data
Just get in touch and I'll sort it — usually within a few days, and always within the 30 days the law allows.
Cookies
This site doesn't use tracking cookies or third-party advertising trackers that follow you around the internet. The account system uses only what's strictly needed to keep you securely logged in.
